Pelvic Pain Due to Adhesions

Laparoscopy - Adhesions

Symptoms

A 47 year old woman presented with sharp shooting pelvic pain. The pain was predominantly left sided.

Diagnosis

Investigations including a Pelvic Ultrasound were normal. Laparoscopy revealed adhesions between the bowel and anterior abdominal wall. It is not clear why the adhesions had formed.

Outcome

These were divided and the pain resolved completely.

Bowel adhesions.

Adhesions are divided.

Normal pelvis at the end of the procedure.
